Why linen and why FEK’s bedding
According to Wikipedia Linen is a textile made from the fibers of the flax plant. Linen is laborious to manufacture, but the fiber is very strong, absorbent and dries faster than cotton. Garments made of linen are valued for their exceptional coolness and freshness in hot and humid weather. (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linen). So here is my story and why I have choose linen to be base line for my new path of my life.
I was traveling a lot for business and personal purposes, sleeping in “fancy” hotels and I was allways expecting more in terms of bedding quality. It was usually cotton, white, satin with maybe small designs...boring - allways the same no matter where and which hotel I choose. When you are spending money on hotels where you only sleep, than this sleep needs to bring you some satisfaction, comfort, that you can function properly in the morning. This sleeping experience must first please your eyes, your touch, your fantasy (upsi :) ) and this completes your sleeping experience and if you add on top of this the dreams that you like to dream than.. perfection.
So, I wanted more than just pure, white cotton (nothing against it please). I like it but I have felt that there is something more. And bam.. it just came in - LINEN. Uauuu. I knew it - THIS IS IT. But why?
It gives you comfort, it breaths with you, linen feels you
when it is cold - linen warms you
when it is hot - linen cools you down
you have issues with alergies - don’t panic - linen is non-allergenic and anti-bacterial
issues with dust? - due to its anti-static characteristics linen is more resistant to stain and dust
do you sweat a lot when you sleep - hm, linen has an outstanding moisture absorbance
ironing - no need - linen is perfect just the way it is
luxorious - yes please - try me
And many more... The more you use linen the better it gets - like wine...mmm what can please you more on a long winter nights than one glass of good wine. That is a fact.
